Tortuga - Lacrimosa
I'll let my CEO, Seleene, introduce the storyline of the vid:
The phrase "lacrimosa" comes from the word lacrimoso, meaning tearful, a term also used to apply to a movement that which is mournful. So it is that the MC now looks back upon the path which led us to end our prior relationship with Band of Brothers and our re-birth among like-minded individuals.
Our freedom has been won, but at great cost. Watch now as we remember our past, acknowledge our present and look forward to our future.
We are Tortuga - united by purpose, driven by ambition, bonded by blood.
Techy bits:
An .mkv version may be on the way soon. I spent all afternoon encoding it but it looks as though the export from AE has dropped a bunch of frames and generally messed things up.
The mkv filesize is about 2meg less than the wmv anyway.
Evefiles Link Thanks as always to Chribba. Filesize: 117Meg Runtime: 4:03 Format: WMV9 Res: 1280x720 Music: The Tempest / Life and Death / Lacrimosa Software: Logic Studio 8 / After Effects 7 / Premiere 2

Dire, keep up the amazing work, simply beautiful!!
Hehe, thank you Chribba! I use the age-old tried and tested camera method of point at target and hope for the best.

Thanks for the feedback. :D
Originally by: Chribba where the beep can I buy your camera controls? I'd love to be able to zoom around my FAT mining turrets getting nice closeups!
A lot of the zoomy aroundy stuff was set parent on a fighter or drone and quite a bit of swearing. I miss advanced camera controls. :(
Originally by: YORK CRAFT Wish it would have been longer. - 117MB, still space up to 200 with an extended storyline.
Yeah ideally I'd like to do something like Needer's vid, but out of the 200+gig of fraps I had that was pretty much all I had that was useable/looked cool.
Originally by: kunokneul I know it is hard work, but is there any possiblility that people allways put up a "smaller" version of there video (on stage6.com for example)? Those high resolutions things arn't playible on older pc's.
Good idea -- I'll get it on stage6 today. It's on evetube.com (twice?) at the moment which is also decent res.
Originally by: CCP Mindstar it seems Tortuga (like the Terminators) are able to travel backwards in time, from their formation on December 15, 2008!
Just my luck the devs get the b0rked version.

Also basically the best editing job I've seen; there aren't even any typos (EVE videos always have typos).
Dire you can't put out something so visually stunning that it makes everyone quit making videos. What did Loxy think of it?
Hehe, there was a typo when I first uploaded it - had the date for Tortuga's formation set in the future.
There's also a lot of filtering on that vid, mostly to try cover up the lack of antialiasing for many of the shots with some diffusion. It took me a while to realise that running in windowed mode with AA forced was the cause of my client crashing every 10mins. I hate having to choose between HDR Bloom (which looks awesome) and antialiasing, but out of the two I'd rather have smooth edges.
Loxy saw an early rough draft and helped me decide between two music choices I had, hopefully he likes the final result! There's no doubt his next vid will blow your minds.

There are 3 pieces used mentioned in the OP, all done by a production company called Immediate Music that license music for film trailers and promo's.
They released an album called Epicon under the name Globus which has a nice variation of the main Lacrimosa track (though it has a different name I can't remember) which is definitely worth getting.

Thank you! They're looking pretty old and dated now, but here you go:

Originally by: thatguy BTW I've been messing around with some of the lower quality video editing programs... which one do you use? TG
After Effects and Premiere all the way. Check out Kyoko's vid if you want to see what AE can really do.
Thanks again!
